After having picked more than 1,400 pounds of Apricots at our good friends' house, we looked upon the fruits of our labors and immediately Janie Hawley spotted these sun kissed apricots in this bowl of hers. She exclaimed at the beauty of these particular apricots and then declared "that would make a great painting!" She turned to me and asked, "If I had you take this home, could you paint this?"A little over a week later I went up to their house again with this finished painting and named it most appropriately, "Memories of the Harvest".

This is the latest of my finished commissioned paintings. I haven't added my signature just yet, but I decided to take a picture and post it anyway.
This painting was for the same person who commissioned me to paint the Hallstatt painting. This was painted from a picture of the Mirabelle Palace in Salzburg, Austria. Shown in the picture is a very small portion of the palace along with the fountain, gardens and the city and fortress in the background. At the moment I don't recall the name of the fortress, but I had toured the inside of it while I was in Austria. This fortress also happens to be the same one as the one filmed on The Sound of Music (or so they tell me- I haven't seen that movie in years).
I will soon have copies of this painting available.

Also, one reason why people didn't think I painted this was because I scanned it before I signed it.
This painting is available in size 14" x 18" (full size) for $60.00 and size 11" x 14" for $40.00 (Customized sizes, smaller and larger are available. Prices for such will be calculated upon specific requests).

At first I just thought that it was just a good project to complete in a few hours. However, when I showed my Mom, she almost cried and told me that they would love it if I gave it to them. In short, I did end up giving it to the two of them when they came down for Thanksgiving.

Here is the little easter egg! Actually, he's not too little, he's almost two feet long. The Fire Salamander is a salamander that has fire powers. There are two versions of it. The older version is impervious to the scorch of fire and can even extinguish it. The newer and more popular version has the ability to create or spread fire, much like that power possessed by the world famous bird, The Phoenix.
In this scene a large copper and cobalt dragon has landed after an early morning flight. Upon discovering the giant wolf, it raising his wings as an instinct, attempting to make itself appear larger. It is not intimidated by the wolf, but rather is only slightly startled as it appears from amidst the tall grass. At the same time the unsuspecting giant wolf, Fenrir (a giant wolf from Norse mythology, also known as the Fenris Wolf), has climbed atop his own rock and stares at the arial visitor. This beast is not intimidated by the pomp of the dragon but remains motionless.
Also present in the picture is a Fire Salamander (a mythical creature from several parts of Europe). This creature is merely an 'easter egg' in the painting that one finds only upon closer inspection.
